For an extension activity small groups of 4th grade students from the four classes worked with Ms. Denise to create podcasts about the American Revolution. Working in groups of 4-5 students, each student had to research, write a portion of the script, and then read and record their portion into a podcast app called Opinion. The creation of the podcasts helped them dive deeper into the topic and share their understanding of the American Revolution with their classmates.

The 4th grade team collaborated with Ms. Denise in the LMC to work on researching the rich history of Baghdad and Islamic Cultures. LMC lessons taught the students how to access to the resources required to achieve research and learning objectives. Students learned how to access the LMCWiki, Safe Searching Resource, and the World Religions Pathfinder specifically to locate facts about their topic. When their research was complete, students created Powtoons to demonstrate their learning. Powtoons is a presentation tool that builds off of the students understanding of Google Slides and allows them to create 2D "movies" that have animation, flashy transitions, and an easy user interface.
